Hi. So I have not used heroin in 3 days. But in a span of 2 days, I used 2 lortabs...which is not much at all for me. I am not feeling so hot today. I am having back pains, anxiety, and just an overall uncomfortableness. Plus, the mental thing is really hard today. I have been searching through this house looking frantically for money or something to trade for drugs. But I made myself quit. I bought a bottle of sleeping pills the other day, but my mom took them from me and just gives me one a night. I could use several of those right now.
I hope so badly that I can get some sleep tonight, and feel better tomorrow. I have got to look for a job, but I just can't do it feeling this way.
I found some myrrh oil in my house. I read that it has been known to have a calming, sedating effect, and can help with pain. So I took some...anything is worth a try. But it taste so nasty!!
Anyway...that is all for now. I cannot wait until I feel NORMAL, and feel GOOD. PLEASE GOD LET IT HAPPEN SOON.
Hi Michele
ReplyDeleteYou're not supposed to drink myrrh oil, it's like an essential oil, you put a couple of drops in the bath or an incense burner with a candle.
I'm sorry to have to tell you you're not going to feel "normal" untill you've had 3-4weeks(at least) without heroin & even then you're not going to be sleeping properly. When I've done unmedicated withdrawals I've found the first month has always been rough, back ache, shivers sneezing fits, extreme irritability, mood swings, crying, anger, emotional chaos, the list is endless. The only comfort I can offer you is that it doesn't last forever, I know this is difficult to believe when it seems like all you've been doing every night is staring at the ceiling feeling like you're waiting to die, but I promise you it does get easier. That is if you don't give in, because if you do and it only has to be once in that 1st few weeks you put yourself back far more than is fair !
After 3-4wks if you're getting 3-4hrs sleep a night you're doing well, from then onwards you can expect to gain roughly an hours sleep per night per week. On that basis it takes 2-3months to get back to a normal sleep pattern, that is if you had a normal sleep pattern in the 1st place. This has been my experience and that of some people I have spoken to. But at the end of the day everyone is different and your experience could be different.
Heroin use artificially stimulates endorphine production which means you need to kickstart your own natural production. Unfortunately the best way of doing this is some form of exercise which is the last thing you feel like doing when you're withdrawaling.
Sleeping tablets can help but I would recommend using them every other night. Benzoes eg. valium etc. reduces harmfull adreneline production but again I wouldn't advise taking these on a daily basis. Alcohol can help but hangovers without heroin are a Evil. Basically the more you can do naturally without chemical aids the quicker this nightmare will be over.
I hope I've been some help, if you need any clarification just ask.
Hope you feel better soon
Good Luck

Hey karl. Thanks for taking to time to reply. Yea, my sleep has been terrible lately. But I guess it can only get better. I feel a little better today. Actually, I think it is just that I am getting used to feeling like crap...because most of the crappy symptoms are still there. Especially being irritable!
DeleteYea...I am worried about the depression thing. I have heard, like you said, that it can take months to feel normal.
One thing that has been bothering me, is my heart rate is just constantly through the roof. This happened when I first did a major withdrawal in jail too. They kept checking my heart rate and blood pressure, and it was sky high..my pulse was always around 140-150. It is crazy...just beating out of my chest, which makes me much more anxious than I already am! Wish I could get my hands on those Benzoes.
Anyway, thank you so much for your help!
